Located in the north of Spain, on both banks of the Ebro River, the Designation of Origin is divided between three provinces of the Alto Ebro: La Rioja, Álava and Navarra.
The fame of Rioja wine is supported by years of history and culture. Hundreds of years ago, it was the Romans, Phoenicians and Celtiberians who brought vine cultivation to La Rioja.
